About Synthflow
Synthflow is a Berlin-based AI startup founded in 2023 by Hakob Astabatsyan, Albert Astabatsyan, and Sassun Mirzakhan-Saky. The company provides a no-code platform for creating and deploying Voice AI Agents that handle tasks from appointment scheduling to customer support. Synthflow delivers enterprise-grade, multilingual, low-latency voice automation with seamless integrations to CRMs, calendars, and telephony systems. By mid-2025, Synthflow supported more than 1,000 customers, powered over 45 million calls with 99.9% uptime, and raised $30 million to scale globally.
The challenge: Establishing performance routines from the ground up
When Mia Klobucher joined as Head of People, Synthflow was at an exciting stage: scaling quickly and ready to bring more structure to its people practices. Performance conversations were happening organically, but the company saw an opportunity to create more consistency with 1:1s, feedback, and reviews. As a one-person people team, Mia was looking for a solution that was lightweight, scalable, and Slack-native: easy to roll out across an engineer-heavy workforce without adding distractions.
"When I joined, Synthflow was just beginning to formalize its performance process. Taito helped us establish the essentials—1:1s, feedback, and reviews—quickly and without extra admin."
How Taito.ai helped: Kickstarting a lightweight, effective system
Simplicity. Taito.ai stood out as a fast, flexible, and lightweight solution, precisely the kind of performance management software for growing organisations that Synthflow needed. It introduced structure without the complexity of legacy tools.
Structure. With Taito, the company rolled out its first lightweight quarterly performance reviews, introduced weekly continuous feedback, and got managers running regular 1:1s, establishing performance enablement routines in just a few weeks.
Adoption. The Slack integration made participation effortless. As a Slack-native performance management tool, Taito kept employees in their normal workflows, while admin users customized notifications to keep processes smooth and low-touch.
Accountability. Performance conversations were now documented in one place, giving managers the confidence to address issues, track progress, and recognize achievements with clarity.
"I’ve used bigger HR platforms before, but they’re clunky and overbuilt for a company at our stage. With Taito, I got the essentials we needed, including feedback, reviews, and 1:1s, all in a Slack-native workflow."
Results: Introducing accountability and clarity
In just a few months, Synthflow established clear performance enablement rhythms across the organization. Managers are now running regular 1:1s, quarterly reviews are part of the cycle, and weekly feedback is becoming a consistent practice across teams.

"What I like about Taito is that I don’t need another HR system. Everything comes through Slack, even the quarterly performance reviews. It’s clear what to do and when, and it doesn’t interrupt my workflow."
"Before, I’d scroll through threads to piece feedback together. With Taito I get a snapshot of my team, and when quarterly reviews come around it’s all in one place. It saves time and makes 1:1s and reviews much easier to prepare for."
Looking ahead: Strengthening the foundations as they scale
As Synthflow grows, the company is focused on evolving its system into a mature, AI-driven process. The goal is to make feedback more proactive, 1:1s more structured, and reviews smarter with the help of performance management AI.
Next priorities include:
- Expanding the feedback loop to drive peer-to-peer engagement.
- Enhancing 1:1s with structured coaching prompts to support manager effectiveness.
- Improving lightweight quarterly performance reviews with AI-generated insights and summaries.
"We’ve doubled headcount in six months. Taito has given us a framework that grows with us, from continuous feedback to quarterly reviews. It’s lightweight enough for today but structured enough for the future."
