Team availability, posted to Slack every Monday

Every Monday morning, the Taito.ai app posts the week ahead to #general: approved leave, work-from-home days, public holidays by location, and the days when few people are available. Everyone sees it in the channel they already check.

A Monday-morning post from the Taito.ai app in the #general Slack channel, headed "This week — May 12–16": Hannah Reid is away Wednesday and Thursday on annual leave, Daniel Hayes is away Friday for a UK public holiday, and Olivia Hartley is working from home all week. The digest flags that few people are available on Wednesday and Thursday, with both Hannah and Daniel away, so work needing either of them should move earlier in the week or be passed to someone else. Three people away this week, with a link to the full calendar in Taito.ai.

How it works

Who's away, before anyone asks

Set the channel, the time, and the leave types once. Every Monday the scheduler reads approved leave and attendance over MCP and writes the post.

Team coordination without a meeting

The Monday standup starts with everyone already knowing who’s available.

One post instead of ten DMs

The week’s schedule is posted in the channel before anyone thinks to ask.

Coverage gaps caught early

When three people are away on the same Thursday, you see it on Monday, not on Wednesday evening.

Prompt

In Taito.ai, set up a weekly "who's away this week" Slack digest.

Post to #general every Monday at 09:00.
Cover the Mon–Fri window ahead.

Include, for each person:
  – Approved annual leave, sick leave, parental leave
  – Approved working-from-home / off-site days
  – Public holidays in their location

Flag coverage gaps (3+ people away on the same day) and highlight them.
Group by day of week; mark "no absences" days as such.

Respect field-level permissions — hide sensitive leave categories per policy.

Frequently asked questions

Which channel does the digest post to?
Whichever one you name — #general in the example above. The channel, the time, the window it covers, and which leave types appear are all part of the setup.
Does it expose sensitive leave types?
No. Field-level permissions apply to the post itself, so categories your policy keeps private stay out of the digest without breaking the rest of it.
Can we change the cadence after setup?
Yes. Re-run the prompt with a different schedule, or edit the workflow in Taito.ai — the digest is a saved workflow, not a fixed feature.
